Dementia Adviser
Amy Murphy is the dementia adviser for North Cork. Amy will work with people with dementia and their families to provide individualised information, signposting to services and support.

Day Care
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland day care centres provides specialist care to meet the needs of people with a warm welcoming and safe environment. The centres provide care and stimulation for the person with dementia and a break for family caregivers.
- Mitchelstown Day Centre – Dementia specific on Tuesdays and Fridays
- Nano Nagle Centre, Mallow (temporary accommodation while St Marys being renovated) – Tuesdays and Thursdays

Home care
The Home Care service assigns a trained dementia care worker to a client’s home for a designated number of hours per week. This service offers care, support and activities to the person with dementia and access to practical information, support and a break for family caregivers.

Respite
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland and the HSE provide dementia specific respite in Amberley Nursing Home. This will also be provided in Teach Altra from June 2022.
Usually respite is allocated for a fortnight.
