We are delighted to be officially launching our childrens book ‘Feathers in my brain’ at our next dementia information evening.
This book was developed in response to the lack of resources for children with a relative with dementia. It sensitively addresses how a diagnosis of dementia can be felt by all members of the family and how inclusion and openness about dementia can help in many ways.
We are honoured to welcome Kevin Quaid, who lives with Lewy Body Dementia, to launch the book.
This launch will take place at the dementia information evening in The Charleville Park Hotel on Wednesday 28th February 7.30-9.30.
Topics on the evening include:
• Explaining dementia
Dr Ciara McGlade, Consultant Geriatrician, Mallow General Hospital
• Practical tips for living with dementia
Sheena Cadoo, Senior Occupational Therapist, HSE
• Supports and services
Amy Murphy, Dementia Adviser, Alzheimer Society of Ireland
